TradePilot vs Housecall Pro
Housecall Pro is one of the largest home-service platforms in North America. Here is where the two differ on price and shape — and where Housecall Pro is the better choice.
The short version
Housecall Pro is built for businesses growing into dispatch, routing and reporting, priced across three tiers that rise with team size. TradePilot is one flat plan for solo operators and small crews. The gap in price is wide, and so is the gap in depth — which way that cuts depends on your size.

Where each one wins
Where Housecall Pro is stronger
- Depth for growing teams. Dispatch, route optimisation, GPS tracking, commissions and flat-rate price books — real tools for a business with vans on the road.
- Accounting. QuickBooks sync on Essentials and above. We have no accounting integration at all.
- Sales tooling. A proposal builder, recurring service plans and a review-management system.
- Ecosystem and support. Open API on Max, dedicated onboarding, escalated phone support, and a very large user base to learn from.
- Longevity. An established company with years of history. We are early, and that carries risk you should price in.
Where TradePilot is different
- Cost at the small end. Their entry plan is US$79/mo month to month; ours is $14.99 CAD. For a one-van shop that difference is real money.
- Nothing is gated. Photos, texting, reminders and your booking page are all in the one plan — not held back for a tier at four times the price.
- Your bill ignores headcount. Hiring does not change what you pay us.
- Canadian by default. Priced in CAD, sales tax set by province, and Interac e-Transfer offered on invoices next to card.
- Longer trial. 30 days instead of 14.
So which one
You have several techs in the field and need dispatching, routing and GPS; you want your jobs flowing into QuickBooks automatically; you sell with proposals or run recurring service plans; or you want the reassurance of a big vendor with formal onboarding. Those are legitimate reasons to spend more.
You are a solo operator or a small crew, the job is mostly schedule-quote-invoice-get paid, you work off a phone, and you are in Canada. You will pay a fraction of the price and give up features you were unlikely to switch on.
If you do want to move over
Export your customer list from Housecall Pro as a CSV — there's an import preset for their columns. Your job history stays with them; you're bringing the client list. Run both for a couple of weeks; 30 days is enough to decide.
Stuck on an import? Email support@gettradepilot.net — a real person answers.
